March 2016 Update

Here we are, nearly one quarter of the way through the year of 2016! Can you believe it?!!! They say that “time flies when you’re having fun.” Well, I can say that we’re having a BLAST with Teach One to Lead One® (T1L1) during the spring school semester!

We are currently working with 3 fourth grade classes – one each at Sierra Vista Elementary, Cesar Chavez Elementary and George Washington Elementary, as well as a class of approximately 12 students at Ripperdan Community Day School. In essence, there are over 100 students within the Madera Unified School District who are currently participating in the T1L1 program during the spring 2016 semester.

HERE’S WHAT YOU’D SEE IN A T1L1 ELEMENTARY CLASSROOM:

HERE’S WHAT’S BEEN HEARD FROM TEACHERS:

“…I’m so grateful that the Teach One to Lead One® program was able to come to my classroom. I have seen a change in my students and other faculty members have seen a big change as well. I love learning right along with the students. The program has given me so much insight and ideas for things I want to implement in my classroom next year.”

“…the kids LOVE having Teach One to Lead One® come to the classroom! After only 2 weeks, it’s already a highlight of their week. I love having them (T1L1) here because I’m so excited about how the kids are interacting with the mentors and with each other. There are a couple of students that I was worried about, but I’m amazed at how they are cooperating and are excited about participating!”
